Diving in Aqaba - December 2007

[photopress:IMG_0033_1_2.JPG,thumb,alignleft]I went with Kasia for a seven-day diving trip to Aqaba in Jordan at the beginning of 2007. We had delicious, mild weather and did a lot of easy diving. I’ve posted a few pictures on Flickr and a seven-minute movie on YouTube.

Cuba 2006

[photopress:Havana.jpg,thumb,alignleft]Jane and I went to Cuba at the end of 2006. We had an amazing time slightly marred by some bad ice cream. We stayed in a casa particular which meant that we were actually mixing with Cuban people rather than being cupped up in a posh hotel with a private beach. We drunk a lot of Mojitos while listening to bands in various bars and restaurants. The standard of musicianship is quite remarkable, Cubans seem to be able to play, sing and dance completely different rhythms at the same time!

Diving s/s Thistlegorm

I came across this great movie of s/s Thistlegorm (shot by Horst Zeiler). Kasia and I did three dives of s/s Thistlegorm in August 2004. There was little current, but the visibility wasn’t great. However the biggest bummer was the fact that I flooded my camera the day before, so here we were diving just about the best wreck in the world and we have no record. Apple Expo Server Event 2006

We have just seen a presentation of all the kit Apple do for the Educational market and while Sean and have seen it before, Mike who works with us as a Network Manager at the UEL, it was pretty exciting. BTW, Mike (the Apple virgin) is on the right. The wine was a pretty decent South African Pinot Noir

Scrybe Personal Organiser beta

I’ve come across Scrybe online personal organiser while browsing something on YouTube. It uses AJAX in a pretty clever way and does some incredibly smart yet obvious things, one of those is “sync to paper”. Every organiser I’ve ever used has some clever printing abilities, but I always found them unusable: so what that you can type pages in a Filofax format if I:

don’t use a paper-based personal organiser,
don’t fancy cropping the A4 pages to Filofax size and
don’t have a appropriately sized hole punch.

Scrybe prints to pages which you can neatly fold and place in your wallet -nice! I hope it will sync with iCal though.
I am not sure if they’ll be offering a hosted service or a software you’ll install on your server. Anyway, I am looking forward to my Scrybe beta trial. In the meantime, have a look:

Just a short one: I opose British, US and Israeli positions on the lebanon crisis. This is one of those moments that makes me deeply ashamed to have chosen to live in the UK. It is easier for me, I can move back to Poland and live with the insane midgets, however I feel very sorry for some of my British friends who don’t have that choice. Blair, we’ll get you out!
